Intro
The tour’s first stop is the historic winery of the Monastery of Tzagarolon, set in the picturesque Akrotiri peninsula of Chania. The temple features admirable Byzantine architecture, a folklore museum, and an ancient library of rarities.
After a wonderful and guided stroll through the monastery's vineyards, you will taste 4 select wines, olive oils and vinegars from the monastery's production while admiring and learning about the wine equipment of the past on display. Enjoy a picturesque drive to a family-owned winery to learn about their wines, history, and philosophy.
Follow your guide in a complete tour to understand the full process of winemaking, from the grape to the bottle. See the press, the tanks, the barrels, and even the underground racks where sparkling wine is created! Taste 4 wines paired with a delicious home cooked Cretan meal.
Discover the delicate art of food and wine pairing with typical Cretan dishes (optional lunch, 25€).
